We were a little disappointed by this site. It was quite warm, and there was almost no shade in the afternoon, especially over the kitchen. There was a nice rock next to the fire grate for preparing food. There are a few places to hang hammocks, but only one decent tent pad. We came through Fire Lake hoping to avoid the burn area, but I'm not sure it was the right decision. The portages out of Fire Lake were annoying. I'm glad we got this camp site, though. We would have been pretty grumpy to have to go back to Hudson Lake. I don't plan to return to this lake, let alone to this site. Finding a place to hang the food bag was difficult, as well. The obvious tree has been overused, and the remaining branches were not up to the challenge. We had hoped for good fishing, but had no luck.

This looks to be the nicest site on Fire Lake, and we were the only people on the lake while we were there. It is fairly small, but reasonably nice.

Great site at the end of Fire Lake, spent 3 days there and didn’t see anyone else during that time.

Nice site in a jack pine grove on a quiet part of the lake. Sloped rock landing. The site is almost right on the water. Though numerous, all of the tent pads are very close together. I put three tent pads, but they might only be for small tents.

As noted by other reviewers, this is a secluded spot at the end of Fire Lake. It has a nice flat rock and the swimming area also has submerged flat rocks which makes getting in and out of the water very easy. I marked this site down for not having much in the way of shade after about 12 noon. It was pretty windy while I was here so I can't comment on the motorboat noise the other reviewer heard.

Nice rocky landing with plenty of space to lay out gear without getting sandy or muddy. Very much secluded by the time you get to the northeast side of Fire Lake. Enjoyed the fishing and swimming in what felt like one's own private wilderness lake. Did not experience motor noise carrying from snowbank like initial review. Tent pads - especially #2 & #3 - were small if you have anything more than a 2/3 person tent.

Nice campsite with a private lake. Lot's of room on the rocks by the water to spread out and plenty of trees for shade and rigging tarps. Great spot for swimming if the weather is right. I didn't notice the noise pollution the other commenter heard.

Quiet, secluded site that "should" offer solitude. Small tranquil lake. Good tent site, decent landing. One big drawback. By the time you reach fire lake you begin to hear motorboat and vehicle noise from the fernberg/snow bank corridor. It is subtle but if you are sensitive to this non wilderness intrusion you are on the edge of civilization here to be sure. Maybe if there was ambient noise from wind and so on it would be masked but when calm it is there. My rating reflects this personal bias.
