This campsite is on a peninsula, though not at the tip where some maps show it. It is actually a little ways down the western or southern side.
The landing is okay but a little narrow. The campsite sits among red pines, which I usually like, but this one did not quite have the extra appeal that red pine sites often have for me. The main issue is tenting. I did not find any level tent pads.
There are probably three places where you could put tents, including the obvious pad that looks like the one most people use, another possible spot in the kitchen area, and one more down a short trail, but none of them are very good. Most of the site has a slight slant, and the pads are lumpy enough that I would not call any of them good tent pads.
The kitchen is sheltered and screened from the lake, with cedars along shore and red pines behind them, plus some young white pines around. This would be a much better hammock site than tent site. There are red pines spaced well for hammocks, including a group of four that could probably support several hammock setups. For tent camping, it is limited, but for hammock campers it would be a more appealing option.
