I really liked this campsite. The landing is pretty easy, with a rocky, grassy area where you can pull up and get out, which should make unloading fairly simple. There are some big steps up to the campsite itself, almost enough that you have to climb, but once you are up there, the site opens into a pleasant area in the woods. It is not huge, but it is not too small either. There is a narrow window out to the lake, though the site is mostly surrounded by trees and feels sheltered. The trees include a lot of young red pines, along with spruce, balsam, and aspen. Unfortunately, some of the aspen have been stripped, so I am not sure how long they will survive.
There are three good tent pads and four maximum tent pads, all in a fairly compact area. Someone also got a rock stuck in a tree while trying to hang a food pack, so there is basically a permanent clothesline unless someone can eventually get it down. This should be a quiet end of the lake because it is not on a main travel route. I cannot point to one single feature that makes it stand out, but it just felt like a nice campsite to me.
