This campsite has a nice view, but it is also rocky and somewhat exposed. The most obvious landing is a smooth rock face in front of the site. It was easy enough to get out there, but it is not a great place to pull up the canoe. The better landing is on the west side of the campsite, where there is a narrow opening in the trees and a short path up to camp. The kitchen is just up from the smooth rock and looks out over the south part of Spoon Lake, with a good view of the bay to the east and the island to the south. The site has quite a few red pines, some cedars, some big spruce, and a gnarly jack pine down by the shore.
Most of the campsite is rocky, with lots of small rocks sticking out of the ground, which may make staking tents difficult. I found two fairly flat tent pads next to each other, though one appears to have only a thin layer of soil over rock. There is a third possible spot, but it is pretty lumpy. A nice sitting rock on the east side of the site sits about eight feet above the water and would be a good place to sit and enjoy the scenery. This is one of the more open sites on Spoon Lake, and winds from the east or south would likely come right through camp.
