BWCA Campsite 1424 on Kekekabic

Great site! We fit a full 9 person Northern Tier Crew in 2019 with 4 tents. I also stayed here almost the same date in 2020 with my family. Kekakabic cliffs are amazing and just beautiful. Plenty of spots to hang a hammock and a large open site. kind of up a hill. Site also has a cliff jumping spot we've used twice now that is pretty much in camp. Just have to go around the corner further into the bay. Nice spot to hang a bear bag that suspends just a little bit over the water.

Strong winds forced us into this site. Nice views and decent tent pads, we would stay here again.

Awesome site!! WARNING: we encountered a very skilled bear here. Climbed our bear bag tree, pulled the bag closer to the tree, tore a hole in the bag, ate most of the food!

A nice site off by itself with good views down the lake. Water is very deep in front of the site. Would stay here again.

Excellent site. Great view down this stunning lake with big rocky cliffs nearby. Good landing for canoes, good sitting area, fire grate in good shape, sheltered in a cove yet open enough for a breeze and a view. Big rock shelf leads down to the water accommodating a swim or fishing area. Good basecamp site to stage day trips out of from the east end of kek over the next few portages to see the interior of the bw. Rated one star from perfect due to camp bear that is habituated to humans and impossible to chase away. Had to pack up and leave when he came into camp and would not leave. This may change in the future, don't know.

Great views, good hiking to high vistas... surrounded by tall rock cliffs... good cliff jumping off rock in the bay
