I usually do not give five-star ratings to sheltered sites without much of a view, but this one is an exception. From the water it does not look like much, but once you get into camp, it is impressive. The landing is easy, with shallow water and enough width to pull a canoe parallel to shore and unload. Near the landing there is a small “porch” area covered in pine duff, separated by a clump of trees from another landing option, and then steps lead up into the campsite. The site itself is mostly enclosed with very little lake view, but it is huge. I found six giant, level tent pads, and you could fit nine or more tents if needed. The whole area feels like open forest, with almost no understory, just mature trees and open ground. There are large white pines, big mature cedars, and plenty of shade. The kitchen area has nice seating, with big logs on all four sides of the fire grate. The front half of the site is covered in pine duff, and the back half is more grassy, but it is all shaded and open. If you want a view, you can sit near the landing area or follow the shore trail toward the point of the peninsula, where there are several places to look out over the water. This would be an excellent site for a large group, whether using tents or hammocks.

Nice site, good landing, very open in camp with lots of potential tent pads. View of the lake is limited from the fire pit. Nice view to the east with a short hike.

This is a pretty nice site, but it lacks open rock along the shoreline and doesn't get much breeze, so it had some bug issues when we were there.
