This campsite was a pleasant surprise. From the water it looks very small, and it is not a large site, but it has a lot of the things I like in a Boundary Waters campsite. The kitchen is shaded, but it still sits out on a rock point with a great view of the bay. The site is surrounded by large, mature white pines, and the whole campsite is covered in pine duff. The landing is around the rock point, and there is a small grassy area that is probably the easiest place to land the canoe. The site is raised about eight feet above the water. There is a very large, level tent pad area covered in pine duff where three tents could fit comfortably. They would be close together, but not uncomfortably so. A fourth tent could fit back in the grass behind the site if needed. The bay is very shallow, and I could see the bottom the whole way in, so it may not be a great fishing spot. Because this site is on what seems like the least-used route between the South Arm of Knife and the northern part of Knife, it should also offer a good amount of solitude. I really liked this site and was tempted to stay, even though the day was still young.

Interesting site. The water is really shallow in this bay, but the campsite isn't that bad.

Nice, secluded location as little traffic comes across the nearby portage. Unfortunately, the lake is really shallow throughout this entire bay.
