I liked this campsite much more than some previous reviewers apparently did. There are a couple of landing options. On the east side, there is a sloping rock where people have placed rocks to make landing easier, and I was able to slide my canoe between the sloping rock and the placed rocks without much trouble. That landing is a little ways from the main site. There is also a closer landing west of the kitchen, but it was muddy when I visited.
The kitchen is on top of a rock about five or six feet above the water, with an open view of the lake. The kitchen itself is exposed and does not have much shade around the fire grate, but there is plenty of shade just behind the kitchen under tall jack pines and cedars.
The tent pads are back in the trees, mostly within the cedar grove. I found three good tent pads, though one is small and probably only suitable for a small tent. A fourth tent could go in the gravelly area near the kitchen, but that spot is a little slanted, so I would not call it good. This site has a good mix of open lake view, shade, and functional tenting, and I thought it had everything I would want in a campsite.
