I liked this campsite more than some other reviewers did. The peninsula appears to have burned, but it has had time to regrow, and there are still some trees that seem to have survived, including white pines, larger spruce, and bigger jack pines.
The landing is a large grassy area, making it very easy to land and unload. The kitchen and much of the main campsite sit on a small grassy hill.
The kitchen does not have much shade or seating right now, with only a stump and a rotten log pushed off to the side. There are two good tent pads and four maximum tent pads. The two good pads are on thick grass and should be pretty comfortable. One of the extra pads is almost good, with only a slight slant, so it is close to being a third good pad.
When I visited in the morning, the kitchen and tent pads were in full sun, while the landing was shaded. Later in the day, the main site may get some shade from a large white pine and jack pine near the landing. If you want more shade, there is a nicer shaded area a little way down the latrine trail where the fire may not have burned as intensely. The view to the east is very open, and you can go out on the rocks and set up chairs to enjoy it. This site depends a lot on what you are looking for, but I liked it.
