I stopped here for a break between the two long portages. This area burned in 2016 but was not re-burned in 2021, so the post-fire re-growth so coming back thick and the new trees are tall enough to provide protection. I was not expecting much because of the fire, so I was surprised to see that this campsite is in good shape. It was recently cleaned with a chainsaw so is now usable again. The fire pit is usable and enough flat tent spots for a group.
