This is a great, huge site. Unfortunately, when we first arrived, there was a lot of garbage, including several packages of unopened food, and an actual garbage bag with several days worth of trash in it. It's the worst we've ever seen. :( We were on the first night of a 12-day trip and didn't want to haul it with us the whole time, so we bribed some young paddlers who were on their way out to take the trash by giving them some of the packages of Cheetos. We buried a pound of baby carrots. We were surprised that there was no sign that critters had gotten into the trash, so it seems likely that the folks who left it had been there earlier that day! They must have been in some sort of hurry. --- The site has a nice view of the lake, and a neat trail to the bad on the other side of the peninsula. We saw several turtles (who were spying on us), and saw an otter swim by, too. A couple of other sites are visible, but they are far enough away to retain some sense of privacy. Plenty of boats went by, it's not a secluded lake, of course. Dozens of sturdy trees for hammocks, and what feels like an acre of potential tent space. There are plenty of options if this camp site is taken, most of them in the area have some nice features. It's not our preferred site for this area (mostly for nostalgia reasons), but we wouldn't be disappointed if we ended up here in the future.

We stopped here for lunch. We would have loved this spot if we hadn't set up camp elsewhere. Tons of space and lots of shade and hammock options. Downside is the rocky landing and plenty of traffic on Pipestone. Someone stopped to ask if we were leaving because they'd stayed here before. Popular site.

Huge Open Pines. Great fire spot right by the lake. Caught fish from shore. Site sits up so there is a great view. Only negatives are a lot of boat traffic goes right by & shitty landing spots. However, can land boat in bay behind the site & it is a bit better

Site is HUGE! Lots of big trees for hammocks. Plenty of firewood. All pine. Clear landing. Great for a base camp for day tripping.
