This is the first time since the 2016 forest fire that I have stopped here to look around. I agree with the other comments....nice campsite. I was impressed. This campsite has been cleaned up and restored since that fire. There are sheltered tent spots back up in the new growth jack pines. It also has a really well constructed fire pit built against a large boulder that can be used for cooking.

Someone has gone to quite a bit of work to restore this site. There is a large, level tent pad with room for two tents and passibly a third. 2024 Update: I stayed at this site in mid-June and found a second fire pit protected from the wind and another tent pad. Some cleanup would be required to make these usable. I took care of some widow makers so the site is quite usable. I found its location near the Bird River convenient.

Very nice site. I liked the tent pads back in the woods. Caught nice lake trout in widening of the lake just east of the campsite.
