I agree with Joe's comments...the best campsite in an area totally burned in 2016 and then re-burned in 2021. I camped here overnight and was able to make a decent camp for the night. It threatened to rain, so I was even able to set up a tarp to cook under down by the lake.

This area had burned totally a few years ago, regenerated into 4" jack pine, then burned again. The whole site is on a rock and surrounded by all the standing, 4" dead pine a pyromaniac could EVER WANT! But really, there is a decent tent pad on a rock, as they are all in this part of the park really. No tent stakes needed. But it now has a rebuilt firepit and all the wood you ever would want is nearby. There are no big dead trees to fall on your tent and kill you. We actually liked this little site a lot, and there are very few, if any, others to choose from. Take this one, look no further.
