I stayed overnight at this campsite in 2025 and changed my mind about it. I really like this site. It did burn in the 2016 forest fire but not in 2021, so the new jack-pines are now tall enough to provide some protection from the west wind. There is one good tent spot west of the fire pit back in the new trees. The only downside of this site is the lack of tall enough trees for a kitchen tarp. I had to set one up on the surviving jack-pine down by the lake and made more of a lean to. Best campsite on the northern end of Talon Lake.

It think this campsite is burned up with lots of standing dead trees. Use the big island campsite instead.

A great island campsite with lots of room and easy docking / undocking from a shallow sloping rocky shore.
