Stayed here for 4 days, and it was definitely the best site in the area. 2 landings one rocky and one big sandy beach if your coming from newton lake. Fishing was good no chipmunks, kitchen was wonderful, really good spot for hammock on rocky landing.

Alongside or nose-in landing is on low rock ledge with lots of storage. The mixed sun and shade clearing is huge, as it extends along the shoreline. There is 3 log seating around the well protected fire grate, but no flat rocks to assist the cook. There are unlimited tent options as the terrain is quite flat. There is a huge, hard sand beach left of the clearing that is great for swimming. There is also a path to a second but tiny, hard sand beach. Unfortunately, it was fouled with florescent green algae during our late August visit. The good beach makes this a solid 5 star site.

Nice site with pretty flat tent sites, large open area around fire grate with good benches, enough pine trees around perimeter for shade and hammocks, 2 landing sites. The best part is one of the landing sites to the SW of the tent sites is a small sandy beach. Great for swimming/bathing, you can walk out a long ways on a nice sandy bottom. Good smallmouth bass fishing right around the site. We looked at 6 or 7 sites around this area and this one is the best of all of them. Most don't offer any shade, this one has some shade.
