The waters in front of camp barely cover a large swath of submerged stone that, depending on water levels, can be frustrating to navigate. As a landing, however, this same flat surface serves quite nicely. A good percentage of the site is exposed, flat stone and there are multiple tent pads in every direction. The surrounding shoreline is easily explored. There was a large widow maker hanging precariously near the lake during our visit. Also, someone had recently inexplicitly chopped several live trees within eyeshot of the fire grate, the remnant battered stumps now serving as an unfortunate eyesore. Still, it's a very nice site that most would be happy to call home.

Excellent site, especially perfect for our group (5 kids ages 4 to 10). The fire did not affect this campsite or the nearby shoreline. Flat rock expanses up and down the shoreline that the kids loved running on. There is a large sand beach just a short walk up the shore. Good view from the kitchen. There are a few nice tent pads - one very nice one and a couple of other decent (but not perfect) pads. If you take the trail past the latrine, you will come to the rapids behind the site - too shallow for much fishing, but a nice place to visit. The only downside to the site was that it was too shallow in front of the site for fishing from shore. Overall, though, it was a perfect site for our group.

Looks nice from the water. (It was occupied) Lots of large live trees; no apparent damage from the fire.
