Long beach is the major feature of the site. The kitchen area is pretty standard - nothing too exciting. The rest of the site is large and sprawling with trails going towards the tent pads. There are several good tent pads. I remember at least three with one of them being very large.
The forest has grown back a lot in the 14 years since the fire. Still isn't quite enough to offer good shade, but it is getting there.
I debated between 3 and 4 stars. The site in its current condition usually would merit 3 stars from me, but the beach, the flat tent pads, and its future potential caused me to boost it to 4 stars.

Nice beach and spacious campsite with lots of room. The forest is growing back quickly and providing protection from wind but not mid day sun.

This campsite is open but was affected by the fire. A few trees survived but the campsite lacks any shade.

Update 2015: Very wide open site, but no shade (large trees gone from burn). A few older live trees, but generally the tallest live trees are about 1inch diameter. Still has a lovely beach.
In 2012, this was a gorgeous nice wide open, flat site (enough trees to find shade). Long sandy beach makes this wonderful for kids.
