This is a very remote campsite, and for being on a portage, it is surprisingly nice. The west-side landing is the portage landing and works well. On the east side, the landing is a rock shelf that is slightly elevated, so I had to load and unload with the canoe in the water rather than pulling it up.
The campsite is protected on three sides, particularly from the west, with hills and trees providing good shelter.
There are two good tent pads - one large and one smaller. If needed, you could fit two additional tents near the larger pad or in front of the kitchen. The kitchen faces east and has a pleasant view. The site is next to a portage and a small set of rapids.

Nice enough site. Open with lots of shade. The portage trail crossing through means I wouldn't want to stay here, but it is a nice site.

Open site, nice view of water, large kitchen and fire grate area. Unfortunately it is right on the portage which runs right through the site. This is a lightly trafficked area, however, so it probably wouldn’t be too much of a problem.

Good landing, good tent pads, spacious, right on portage trail, but this area is off the beaten path, so should not be an issue. Borderline 4-star site, and we were certainly glad to see it after fighting our way through from Mesaba Lake.

Did not stay at this site but stopped by to check it out. Very nice site! Mostly level with lots of big trees. Secluded even though by a portage. Saw fish jumping in the lake.
