BWCA Campsite 1960 on Frog

I was not expecting much from this campsite, but I actually liked it more than I thought I would. It is the only campsite on Frog Lake, so it should offer some solitude. The site sits on a rocky point, with two good tent pads and room to squeeze in a third if needed. The north-side landing is a rocky outcropping and was a little difficult to navigate. You could park a canoe there, but it is slanted and would be slippery if wet. There is also an alternative landing on the south side of the peninsula that may be easier. The main drawback is the fire grate. It is set on a steeply slanted rock, which makes seating difficult and seems like a poor location for a fire grate. It even looks like ash or logs could roll downhill toward the lake. Other than that, the campsite is decent. One thing I really liked was how clear the water was on Frog Lake. From the south side of the peninsula, I could see deep into the bay, which was impressive.
