We didn't stay at this site, but did stop here for lunch. This is a very nice site, the only reason for bumping it down to a four rating are, the site location, at the far south end of Slim Lake and the fact that it has been part of a prescribed burn recently and the latrine is very exposed (easy to see from a couple of the tent pads). The later issue will go away in a couple of year. Otherwise, the landing is easy, the site is protected, lots of trees for hanging food, a tarp, clothes line, etc. The kitchen could use a little maintenance, but isn't too bad. If you want a private out of the main travel route spot for a larger group then this site is the ticket. Also, the area around this site is the best fishing we found on Slim.

The campsite has a nice, shallow gravel landing. There are good tarp options and plenty of shade. The scenery is new. The view from the firegrate is semi-blocked due to the trees and brush. I felt secluded at this end of the lake, even though it is very close to the entry point. There are hiking trails connected to the campsite.

Nice landing, nice view, adequate fire grate & several very nice tent pads. Direct access to a maze of hiking trails running to the south. But, during the peak season, there's a good chance you'll have some unexpected company from people using those trails.
