The landing for this campsite is a bit awkward. It drops off pretty quickly, so I had to place the canoe between some sharp rocks to unload. Getting the canoe fully out of the water would also be a bit of a haul up the hill. The campsite sits about 10 feet above the water, and it is a steep climb from the landing up to camp. The site itself is in a small grassy clearing, though the soil does not seem very deep and there is rock just underneath. Most of the trees around camp are spruce and balsam, with a few cedars mixed in. Some of the cedars by the landing and within camp are dead or dying. There are two good tent pads and four maximum tent pads. The best pad is near the fire grate, and the second-best pad is tucked back into the woods behind the kitchen. A couple of other tents could fit in the main camp area if needed. This site is fairly sheltered, with an opening toward the lake from the landing, but otherwise trees surround most of camp. Compared with the other Jenny Lake site, this one has more shade, while the eastern site has a better view and more solitude.

This was a long push from the Seagull entry for the group of high school students I was guiding. We pulled in here mid-afternoon and decided to stay. The campsite is a little cramped. The biff is in view from the camp kitchen. That said, the campsite is tucked back and private. Nice spot
