This is probably one of the least-used campsites I have seen in the Boundary Waters, with moss growing over much of the fire grate. The landing was a little difficult mainly because the site does not get much use, so grasses and brush have grown up around it. On a more heavily used campsite, the landing itself probably would not be a major problem. The fire grate is just a few feet above the lake and set back slightly, with a beautiful view of Barter Lake through a nice opening in the trees. The site is surrounded by mature cedars, along with some red pines, white pines, and spruce, so there is plenty of shade.
There is one good tent pad under the cedars, though it has been used so little that small white pine seedlings are starting to grow there. A second smaller tent spot near the fire grate could work if needed. One odd thing about the site is the latrine trail. The latrine is not far from camp, and the trail runs straight to it, leaving a clear view of the latrine from the campsite.
Even with that drawback, this site has a quiet, almost PMA-like feel, and if I wanted solitude on a private little lake, it would not be a bad option.
