The best landing is on the north side of the island. It is a small sand-and-gravel landing that requires navigating around some rocks, but it worked well once I got through.
A short path from the landing opens into a large, open campsite. The kitchen has a west-facing window through the trees rather than a fully open view.
I found two good tent pads, one of which is very large and flat. There is room for a third tent if needed. There are also good sitting rocks along the shoreline and plenty of downed wood behind the site for campfires.

The level gravel landing is situated more to the north end which is away from the main kitchen area. This is a sprawling expansive site with multiple flat tent pads and good log seating. About the right mix of surrounding trees to provide shade, shelter & hammock options but still afford somewhat of a view.

Mosquitos thick enough in July that we needed our head nets both evening and morning. Incredibly peaceful with no canoe traffic observed on River Lake during our 16 hour stay. Decent kitchen area, nice view of the river. One pad on the same "level" as the kitchen good for a smaller (3 person) tent, one larger pad just back into the woods held a large (6 person) tent easily.

Excellent river site. Open main area with good fire grate and kitchen spot. Plenty of room for tens and a tarp. Somewhat challenging for good bear bag trees, but doable. Spectacular sitting/jumping rock in front of camp. Swimming and star gazing! Very good landing and canoe storage.
