BWCA Campsite 2087 on Newfound

This is an okay campsite, but it felt below average to me. The landing is difficult and reminded me of shelf-style landings where there is not a good place to pull the canoe up. Here, the landing was along tree roots, and I ended up tying my canoe off because there was no easy pull-up spot. I would probably have to unload first and then pull the canoe up if I were staying here. The site is rocky going up toward the kitchen, and the kitchen itself does not have much for seating or other amenities. There are mostly jack pines around the kitchen with a few spruce trees mixed in. The best part of the site is the tent area back behind the kitchen, where a trail leads to a grassy spot with a couple of decent tent pads. They may not be perfectly level, but they are usable. This site would work if I needed a place to stay, but the landing, small size, and overall feel bring it down.
