We stayed here overnight from Big Lake Wilderness Lodge as an introduction to the BWCA for my 5 year old cousin. This site is somewhat basic but does have a few nice features. The landing rock is very nice and some group members enjoyed swimming off of it. The kitchen area has 2 logs to sit on and not much else. The camping area is pretty compact but we managed to fit 5 smaller tents here, but they were close to each other and the fire pit. The shore fishing was not productive but the nearby bays and islands can be good. There are a few mature pine trees nearby for potential bear bag options. There are some smaller blueberry plants and some immature serviceberry trees that may produce in the next couple years. The mosquitoes were intense around sunset and after. There isn't really a view of the sunset from this site, unfortunately. Big lake is motorized but it was not a major problem, we mostly saw slow-moving pontoon boats on a Tuesday in July.
