This campsite is primarily used as a hiking campsite and connects to the Kekekabic Trail, but it worked well for us while canoeing when other sites were already taken. Since it is considered a hiking campsite, it does not appear on all maps.
The landing is okay. There are a couple of narrow but flat rock spots where we could get out of the canoe, followed by a steep climb up to the campsite. Because the site sits higher above the lake, it has a fairly nice view, though it’s somewhat screened by trees around the kitchen and tenting area. That tree cover does help block the wind.
The biggest issue here was bugs. The site was very buggy when we arrived, and we ended up keeping a campfire going most of the time just to manage them. As long as the fire was going, the bugs were much more tolerable.
I found one large, good tent pad that worked very well. You could probably fit another tent somewhere in the site, but space is more limited beyond that. There is quite a bit of blowdown throughout the campsite, and not all of it has been cleared. The latrine trail was partially blocked by downed trees, which made access awkward. I cleared a few of the worst spots, but some obstacles remain.
Aside from the bugs and blowdown, I thought this was a nice campsite and one I’d use again if other options were limited.

It's my understanding this is/was a hike-in campsite. Convenient canoe storage could be an issue.Having said that, it obviously has received canoeing visitors over the years. It doesn't appear there is much of a landing and, from the lake, it's a tough scramble up to the site proper. There are a couple of planed flat long log benches that are about as nice as you'll find. The elevated view gives a panoramic overlook of the lake & nearby peninsula. Not an over abundance of room, maybe space for 2 tents? Lots of blow down around camp. As to be expected; easy access to hiking trail and there is a beautiful overlook south of the site just before reaching the junction of the Kekekabic Hiking Trail.

This is an okay site with room to land a canoe and a trail connecting it to the Kek. It was hit hard in the 16 blowdown so parts of the site are a mess. Decent enough site though.
