The site it self was good for sleeping areas and swimming. We got here early and several other trippers from both directions looked to set up here but had to keep moving. The site was very littered with pieces of trash and the route to the thunderbox was littered with half buried waste. I feel like this site being so accessible to the entry point of canoe lake is over used and not cared for.

this site is great. you have to spread tents out if you have more than 3 but all are pretty decent spots, especially the one right near the launch. great swimming. great fire pit. this would have gotten 5 stars if it wasn't right near a kids camp and the fact that we had to decamp and relocate at 1:00am because a black bear came in and wouldn't leave. hindsight, we should have known better due to the close proximity of the summer camp.
