Short summary: 3 stars balancing good & bad. I camped by myself so didn't really pay attention to how many tent sites there are. What you value may differ than I do. Also uploaded pics so you have an idea of what you get here. Now for the long review. For me I go camping to enjoy wilderness, nature, and solitude. If I get those then 5stars. There are both upsides (nice view) and several downsides to this site and lake. The GOOD: campsite is up on an elevated cliff so you have nice views of the lake. The BAD: You can't really say Brule is wilderness with a road running along the West side. Sure it is a dirt road, but seeing/hearing cars drive past while you had to paddle/portage there is a big turnoff for me. There are also cottages on Brule so that is another negative. It's hard to picture wilderness with what look like affluent cottages on Brule, while you sleep in a tent. There are also lots and lots of mosquito's at this site and really vicious. For the same time of year (Aug), mosquitos were much less of an issue on nearby Potter lake or the other site on this lake. I didn't seem to notice a source of swampy stagnant water nearby, but there must have been. Not to be entirely negative, but if you want a road, cars and cottages nearby to get out quick in case of an emergency then I guess those are good things. Sometimes you might want this (eg. camping with your kids).
