This is an average campsite. The landing was a little awkward when I visited because of a downed tree in front, but I was still able to slip between the tree and shore. After that, I could pull up parallel to shore and unload the canoe.
The fire grate is only a few feet above water level and set a little way back from shore. It has a decent view through a window toward the northeast, while the rest of the site is surrounded by trees.
The main campsite area is fairly large and open, with a lot of jack pines. There are two very good, flat, grassy tent pads behind the kitchen, and they are shaded. A third tent pad is up toward the rocks. It is not as good as the two behind the kitchen, but it is still decent.
The main campsite is otherwise rocky and gravelly, aside from the grassy tent pads. You can also walk up along the shoreline onto higher rocks for a nicer view of the lake.

Middle of the road site that sees a lot of use. Closest site to the SAK portage and deep laker fishing out front. Latrine was really off-kilter, slanted forward.

This site sits up above the lake with a view to the north. A couple decent tent pad locations and some hammock trees available.

Pretty good site. We paddled from American Point and was ready to stop way earlier but every campsite was occupied. This is the first open one we found on our route. Stayed two nights. Worked well. Don't waste your time on the 1 rod, very vertical portage to Clam Lake if you want to fish. It seemed to be void of any fish action.

Landing is a bit bothersome. Main camp is full of protruding rocks and roots but, there are a couple of nice tent pads back up the hill. The fire grate isn't situated the best for viewing the lake but, the site does offer a commanding view of the majority of Hanson Lake.
