This is a pretty small site on a tiny rock peninsula. The kitchen is right on the peninsula and is fairly exposed. There is a young white pine next to it that may provide shade late in the day, but otherwise the kitchen does not have much cover. The rest of the site is very rocky, with small sharp rocks throughout.
The landing is decent, with a small gravel spot. It is deeper than it looks, but you can parallel park the canoe along shore, unload, and then pull the canoe up.
I found one good tent pad and two maximum tent pads. The good pad is not great, but it works. With all the rock around, finding places for tents is difficult. The main tree species in camp is jack pine, with a mix of mature and younger ones. This is a small, rocky site, but it is usable, and I can see why it lands in the lower end of average.

Nice site with a small peninsula. Very quiet lake, we saw only one other canoe in five days. Decent pad for one tent and an OK pad for one other. There is a small bay on the north side of the site that is frequented by loons fishing.

Nice quiet campsite perfect for a couple or small family looking for a small secluded campsite. A couple tent sites and hammock trees available. Beautiful view of the lake.

All the sites on Ester were full, so we found this a welcome spot for the night. As hammock campers, this site was perfect for us. And we had the most amazing sunset with lightning streaking across it. Really nice place.

Good landing and decent log seating around an exposed fire grate that sits close to the lakeshore. Not many mature trees near camp. Kitchen area is very rocky and there is a rock tent pad just behind. There are a couple of nicer ones just off the trail back to the latrine.

Incredibly quiet...had no visitors to the lake in four days. Solid Lake Trout fishing and perfect timing for blueberries this year.

This would be a great place to stay if there were better tent pads. It's a beautiful lake full of willing lakers that are on the small side - perfect for a meal.
