BWCA Campsite 332 on Rabbit

This campsite is rarely used and feels like it. The only workable landing is behind a downed jack pine. I first tried going around the back side of the peninsula, but the water was much deeper than it looked, and I was up to my hip before touching bottom. Tucking the canoe behind the downed jack pine worked much better. The campsite is small and does not show much use. There is one good tent pad and three maximum tent pads, though fitting three would be pushing it. Most of the trees in camp are spruce and balsam, with a couple of cedars near the water and a couple of white pines off to the side. The view from the fire grate is narrow, with just a small window out toward the channel, and the site is sheltered on most sides. Across the channel, there appears to be a wide animal trail, so there may be some chance of seeing wildlife. If you really want to stay on Rabbit Lake, this site would work, but the other campsite on the lake is much better.

Obviously used very rarely. We could not even find the privy during a lunch stop here. It is totally secluded and a decent site best used if the other Rabbit camp is taken.

This site is kinda tucked on the back bay side of the point and is really grown in. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, but it is definitely the worst of the two.

Tucked away in a small back bay. The landing is manageable. Short grassy climb up to an elevated fire grate. Log seating is deteriorating but, still serviceable. There a 2 decent small tent pads but, there was a lot of dead and downed trees in and around camp creating a not so pretty scene. However there's potential here, I think with a little TLC I would rate this site better.

This site looks pretty rough, but the lake is wonderful.
