There are two landings that appear to be optimized for paddlers and motorists. The "paddler" landing would also be a great place to go swimming, with beautiful sugar sand. The kitchen area was huge, with surprisingly good tree cover, considering how open it feels. Unfortunately, someone had clearly burned their cooking oil, and the grate and all the rocks were covered with nasty soot. We only stopped there to check it out; I'm afraid of what it would smell like to light a fire there, and it would probably leave a mess on any gear set on the rocks. I'm still wishing we had stayed here rather than the site to the south, as the swimming would have been much better here, and the view wouldn't have been any worse. No sunset view, but a decent view easy from one of the landings. The western landing is very protected from almost every direction, making this a good choice for bad weather. There's lots of room to spread out here, so it would be good for a large group.

Last night out on a 45 mile loop. Great site. Caught a 15 pound northern from shore. Lots of room, great trails for the kids to explore.
