Odd site. There's an obvious site along the river just below the rapids, but a second fire pit and tent pad along the foot path to the falls. Neither of them looked fantastic, but either of them would have been OK for a night.

Good site for us. We were in hammocks. Loved the sound of the falls. Great rock to relax on shoreside. Well travelled due to it's location.

I visited this site on 6/29/05 while hiking to Chatterton Falls. When I previously explored the site a year ago I found no suitable area for tents. Revisiting it, though, I found that most of the site was removed quite a bit from the water. Just up from the water is the firepit area which is quite nice, surrounded by stone benches that someone erected (like a mini stonehenge). Beyond the fire pit is the tent area, an open area enough for several tents though the area is solid rock so staking out the tents may be tough. The proximity to Chatterton make this a high traffic area.
