Post-fire report. This is the only site that we could find on Cairn Lake that wasn't completely littered with dead fallen trees and new bushes. If after a long day of paddling and portaging, you find yourself on Cairn Lake late in the afternoon and are looking for a place to camp, this is about your only realistic camping option right now. With that said, the location shown on Paddle Planner is a little off. Campsite is actually on west side on large rock (campsite faces west), with two non-flat tent sites near water and another one up the hill and to the left of the other two. With continued work clearing dead trees, this will be a nice campsite again, but for now I'm probably being a little generous calling it 3 stars.

This was a lovely site from which we fished and explored for a couple of days.

Camped here for 2 days in June of 2007. Nice site. Best feature is the large and shallow rock ledge for lounging in the water. Cook area is above and back from the waters edge. We pitched the tent down from the cook area by the water.

Passed by this camp on 9-5-05, but did not stop. From the water this looked like a nice camp that got some use. Worth a visit if looking for a camp in this area. Did not get lat/long.
