This excellent campsite is positioned at on an elevated bank above the confluence of the Wide Creek and Johnson Creek. The landing is easy with an area to pull the canoe up out of the water. There is steep but short climb to the site. The site is flat and beneath white pine and hemlock. There are no cabins or development in view or nearby - and no other campsites either so it is very private. There is plenty of space for tents and a number of good hammock hang trees. Site features a newer cast iron fire ring with retractable grill and a new picnic table. There is ample firewood available in the woods surrounding the area. The scenic view faces the sunset. Downsides to this site is that there isn't a swimming area at the site or nearby and fishing is very shallow and full of snags. This isn't a site I'd want to hang in for a long time, but it is a nice private space with direct water views for an overnight on your paddling trip.

I'd consider this site about the gold standard in the NHAL. Never seen it free on a weekend. Breezy and open, no development anywhere nearby.
