i have been to this area a number of times by canoe and hiking. the map shows 4 sites avail on this stretch but i cannot verify there are that many. but there is certainly more than one spot. when water levels are average or low, there is a nice beach along here. it can be quite buggy depending on conditions and time of year of course. nicely sheltered from the brunt of any storms coming from the main body of pickerel lake while still allowing a breeze if winds are from the west, NW, or north. not really suitable for longer stays but good enough for a night or maybe a weekend. nice to have access to the hiking trail from here though. you can walk all the way back to the campground or head the other direction and you can reach "the pines". as of summer of 2025 there was a very large fallen tree on the site closest to the point. hopefully that will get removed.

Windbound at this site in August 2006. Sandy beach, but campsite is small and heavily wooded. It wouldn't be my preferred site.
