This is Wetasi Island. I found it to be well used but in good condition with a well built fire pit and views of the setting sun. A large open grassy area allows for several tents. A large flat rock behind the fire pit serves as a great balcony to watch the sun set. When camping on well used islands such as this one please take the time to get your wood from the mainland . This is a site with beautiful views but limited tent pads. One of the tent pads also has a falling tree perched over it. The site is very well used and in a high traffic area (relatively speaking). It illustrates one of the problems with Quetico. It seems like every corner of the island has been used as a latrine and by some inconsiderate campers. I would not recommend it.

I don't know if the GPS is right on this one. In 1975 the campsite was on the east end of the island. Awesome campsite, with lots of fallen logs for benches and work tables. Had a wooden latrine with an actual toilet seat and a magazine rack. We got there just as the downpour started, just in time to get everything out of the canoe and get it drenched. By the time we crawled into the sopping tent, the rain stopped, and we got a beautiful sunset.
