The Good: This is a great site for larger groups, with plenty of tent pads and more hammock trees than you've got straps for. There are some beautiful tall white pines that provide ample shade, while still allowing for a breeze to blow through camp. Good fishing for SMB and Pike in the bays just to the South. The Not-So-Good: The seating around the fire pit leaves a lot to be desired, but if you bring your own camp chair this shouldn't be a problem. This site is 'well loved' and you'll find plenty of micro-litter and signs of past abuse. For example, there is a bear rope stuck in a tree from previous campers unable able to process the simplest of tasks. The Bad: This site is right next to the portage and it is a BUSY portage that sees all the traffic for those headed to Rose Falls and the stairway portage. Be prepared to constantly hear the scraping of kevlar against rocks, the tossing of paddles on shore, and the musings of all walks of life. Overall: This was a comfortable site for a larger group, but it really suffers from being on an entry lake.

A little rocky, on a point, nice and airy to keep the bugs down. There was a Red Fox that was obviously very accustomed to raiding the site, cleaning up the spilled food or things from the fire pit. Was able to catch some Small mouth Bass from shore, and Loons associated close in to the landing as they fished. I'd stay here again. After checking out the other campsites on the lake, this one seemed to be the nicest for staying cool and reducing bugs.
