A good site, and definitely the best one on the lake. The view of the lake is obstructed by trees, however it's still pretty darn good to see both the sunrise and sunset. The landing is good on the West side, and there's a large open area around the firegrate for a bigger group. Not great for hammockers, but I found one good location to hang mine. Latrine was an easy hike up the hill.

I'd give it a 3.5 Great tent pads, great firepit, great staircase to site, good landing, poor view of lake from site.

My rating may be more sentimental than anything. We stayed at this camp a couple times during my childhood. This site is up from the water a bit, but we always found it to be a good site. The most tents we fit here was four as there was three in camp and one down by the water. We have always called this site "Camp Maugrim" as my dad saw a wolf in this site the first time he used it. Stayed here for maybe 8 nights total between different trips.

A mediocre landing. The site is up off the lake & very open providing plenty of room but, limiting good tarp options. Tent pads were lumpy. There are not any good views of the lake from camp but, there is a nice small sitting rock by the lake shore. Firewood was scarce.
