i was here for a night in may of 2024. i had read numerous comments in online forums and had seen these reviews before my trip, and i must say, other than the spectacular views from this site, i do not agree it lives up to the hype. most of this lake area is quite swampy and so is the area directly around this site. the area best for my tent and tarp was near the back of the site in a low lying area that would def be an issue in bad weather. firewood was not easily avail. the landing area on the north side of the site may be a beach in low water but was a stumpy wet mess when i was there. but it was the only viable option close to the portage i had to cross in the morning. i did not fish here but perhaps if the fishing was good here, i would return. but other than that, i would not plan to include this spot on a future trip. but yes, that sunset was quite something from this elevated site.

This is a great site - 4.5 stars. Only downside is it doesn't have much shade. But it has a sand beach!

Roomy site, firepit, sitting logs, shade and shelter, big rock for sunning and swimming.
