Nice open site with massive firepit against a rock wall backdrop. We only found one active firepit. Someone has made a table next to the firepit from small logs and paracord. It's a nice feature for practical use, but not exactly in the LNT criteria. The site has a lot of elevation to get to a latrine area and the fire pit area itself is somewhat elevated. The edge of the fire burn area can be seen from camp but does not affect it. There is a pretty long flat area for tents, but it is at the edge of a long downhill, so it might become flooded when it rains. Beautiful lake and the island next to the site and the elevation on the other side gives a lot of wind protection.

Very nice spot after long day of paddling from Moose Entry. Very windy day and this spot was nice and protected.

large, open site under red pine stand. good flat tent pads, giant, built up hearth that is too high but useable, good landing and swimming, very protected.

Great spot on cooler, windy days, totally protected. Too shallow to fish from shoreline. Virgin White pine forest (200-300 years old) view across narrow channel. Looks like heavy game trail route. One QJ poster said a moose walked through their camp and got caught in overhead lines run for camp purposes. Shady due to big pines on site and tall forest to West.

Camped here on 9-6-04 and stopped for lunch on 8-30-01. A nice spot, sheltered from strong winds (especially the west). Tree cover of nice red pines. Site is on an upsloping ridge, but the tent pads and fire ring are close to the water to take advantage of flatter ground. Tent pads and fire ring no more than 4-5 feet above lake elevation. Firewood getting a bit scarce, but sanitation not a problem. Good swimming opportunity. Limited views. Did not get lat/long.
