Welcoming gently sloped rock shelf landing with stone staircase leading up to a massively expansive camp situated in a Cathedral of red pines proportionately garnished by some lush cedars. Excellent fire grate area and log seating with the shadow of the most prominent peak of very picturesque West Pike Lake right out the front porch. Offers close proximity to spectacular Gogebic Lake, the Border Route Trail & the Mountain Lake overlooks. Ample room for every purpose and if pine duff is your thing, then this will seem like paradise to you. Not sure I would give it a full 5* since I couldn't find a sizeable level tent pad but rounded up from a 4.5* rating. But, with everything else it has going for it I imagine most will be able to overlook that chink in the armor.

A-plus site! Lots to love, almost perfect! The only thing missing is a sand beach and a simultaneous view of the north sky for northern lights at night. We got lots of sun at this site and lots of wind. There were plenty of choices for bathing/swimming, a good landing, lots of opprotunities for good bear hangs and deeper water for filtering. Great view and a great view from the kitchen. Nice kitchen and location. Thunderdome was good- heads up the walkway has a lot of rocks but is a nice little walk. Loved this site. Wonder how many voyageurs used this site back in the day. Great options for enjoying your meals and day no matter the direction of the wind.

A fantastic site. Bay on the West side was hidden from the wind for us (opposite of usual) and produced good smallies with the drop offs.
For how big this site is, the fire seating area should be extended a bit.

Nice site. The tent pads are not level so be prepared to slide around all night ;)

One of my favorite sites on our trip. Easy landing and large area to make camp with trails to explore. Great fire ring and benches with several areas to pitch tents.

Great campsite! Wide open with plenty of tent pads. Nice fire pit with a great view. Plenty of tarp options. I've stayed at this campsite twice in 5 years. It was as good of a site as I've stayed at. I can't speak for the fishing but access to the BRT is awesome! The one downside might be vulnerability to wind in stormy conditions. Wind did whip through the campsite.
