This is a really nice site with a large rock in the front allowing for easy fishing from shore. It doesn’t have the best takeout but the one we like the best was to the right of the site if you’re looking at it. I fear that we are the last people to stay at this site because on the night of June 30 there was a large downpour and rain and thunder, and that was the night that the fire started near Olifaunt Lake. I was able to see the on my satellite app but did not think much about it until the sky turned orange and we went down the portage to Art Lake. We had been monitoring the situation but now there was a large plume of smoke. We texted out kids who contacted the Dawson Trail Ranger station. They said it was up to us whether we wanted to leave or not but I had the feeling that if the wind changed direction, it would be really bad. So we left and on the way out, we saw debris from leaves burning on the water and went to Pickerel Lake for the night and then left the next day and we ran into Rangers coming out in a motor boat. I really like this lake a lot and fear that it is totally burnt now but you never know there might be an island or two that is unscathed.

Near the art portage, but this campsite's best feature is the view down Rawn lake. Absolutely incredible!

Great site right next to the Art Lake portage. A couple of good tent pads visible from the lake, with another a bit higher up down a short trail behind the fire pit. Easy bedrock launch site, solid firepit and some good food-hanging trees.
