usable in a pinch but we moved on. as mentioned in the other post, this site is well protected from prevailing winds. we also stopped at the beach area to the east. looks like a fantastic swim spot for kids in summer. long shallow sandy bottom.

I stayed at this site on 9/12/2026 on a day when whitecaps were rolling down the lake. It has been used as a campsite by others, but I would guess not much. There is a large level spot for maybe 2 tents in the corner up away from the sand beach and there is a small fire ring on the beach with some logs pulled up for sitting. I liked this spot because 1) it is sheltered from the prevailing winds and 2) it faces the sunrise to help get a person warm and awake in the morning. I also explored the larger beach further back in this bay - there was a fire ring but not much space for tents.
