BWCA Campsite 814 on Little Saganaga

The landing is in a small cove on the south side of a point. It is a gravel landing and is well protected from west winds, which are the prevailing winds. I was able to pull up easily. The kitchen and main campsite area are out on the point. This is a well-used site, and the ground is dusty due to the lack of ground cover. The main trees here are jack pines and cedars, with a few spruces mixed in. There are two good tent pads near the kitchen. There is another possible spot right next to the fire grate, but I don't consider that a good pad since it interferes with using the fire. There are additional possible tent spots along the trail toward the latrine, though none are ideal. The latrine area appears heavily used, with evidence that multiple latrines have been dug over time.

Great campsite. Really three decent tent pads in my opinion. Good views of the lake off the dock and kitchen areas. Decent Latrine. Good fishing off dock. Good Sunset views. Nice kitchen area. No complaints.

Some tent pads not well drained, so be careful where you situate your tent. Surprisingly limited hammock options if setting up after the tent pads are taken and your group is larger. Great view to the east. Nice island hopping options.

Great site. Fantastic view to the East and also a view to West. Several nice tent pads. Good landing in protected bay. Breezy enough to keep the bugs at bay. Good fishing from shore. Firewood was hard to come by but that is about the only downside of this site.

Excellent site, with room for larger groups, your own bay to enjoy with a good landing. Fishing from shore options as well as plenty of island hopping options. Wildlife to enjoy, with a large snapping turtle visiting (called him Morla) frequently for fun! Excellent sunrises and sunsets!
