BWCA Campsite 945 on Brule

The landing at this campsite is very small and narrow. There are a couple of different landing spots, but both are tight and not especially convenient. The fire grate area is fine but offers only a limited view of the lake. I found two decent tent pads, and that's really all the space this site has for tents. The water in front of the campsite is very shallow and extremely rocky, with a mix of larger rocks and sharp smaller ones. Overall, this is a functional but fairly limited campsite.

Note - we chose to move on and look for another site, due to this one being a real let-down compared to the other sites in the area. Location was swampy and sheltered and we had concerns about mosquitos. Fire pit area was fine, but not a lot of good spots for tents. We saw one decent spot for a 3p tent and maybe another spot that could hold a 2p tent. There were two small areas to land a canoe but both were mucky. The site doesn’t appear to get much use though so if all of the other sites in the area are taken this one will probably be available. It will do if you just need a spot to sleep for the night.
