We stopped here after a pretty short day of travel for a staff training trip. The island this site on is beautiful with lots of old trees and unique character. This site though was gross. It was overused, there was garbage everywhere, and pretty much every leave no trace violation that could be here was. I packed a big bag of garbage out with us. That said, it's a decent enough site I guess, but I wouldn't usually chose to stay in an overused entry point lake site.

This site is a little difficult to find based off of the Fisher maps. It's on the south side of the island but further West than shown on this map. While certainly not the worst site I've stayed at, I was disappointed by the clear overuse and disrespect. There was lots of trash in the fire grate and tree stumps from where they had been cut down live. The view and landing aren't great. Mosquitos were particularly bad due to nearby marshy area.

We got to this site fully expecting to stay here (two of us, one tent), but paddled away wondering how this is rated at a 4-star. Everything slanted, poor tent pad(s) and nothing really appealing to it. Plenty of trees so I suppose if you're in hammocks, it would be fine. For groups of one or two tents, I suggest paddling south to 955.

Rocky landing area. Private spot on an island with decent tent pads and hammock opportunities. Not easy to fish from landing and no great bear trees.

Really loved this campsite! The location on paddle planner is accurate, but not on the hard copy maps- we were a bit confused looking for it. Take note that it is on the other side of the hook on island's southern side. Great kitchen area with seating almost all around. Multi-level, relatively flat tent pads. Latrine close and in good order. Island is up for a little exploring! Swam off the site for a fast dip- lost some lures on the rocky shoreline.
