There are the remains of an old cabin here - cast iron wood stove, bed springs, etc. Likely an old trapper's cabin, since there's no reference to a ranger cabin on the old Quetico maps, and Batchewaung wasn't added to the park until the 1970s. Looks like there might have been a campsite here too...firepit doesn't look like it's seen any use for many years. But it's an easy take out, nice swimming area, and the campsite is huge....though the tent pads are all on bedrock. Neat spot to stop for lunch and a bit of an explore.
