This was unfortunately difficult to find! There is a beaver dam here, but a large tree fell on the portage landing. We were searching the south side of the creek for some time before I waded across and found the landing. It now takes a step up onto the log and a jump down before climbing up and taking the portage.

Beware, beavers have entirely messed up this portage. You will now need to portage on the south side of the little creek. There is a little trail you can follow up the hill from Mesaba that takes you into Chaser lake. (Coming from Chaser is easier, but don't get tricked by the beaver highway up to the poplar Grove. Take the little trail to the left).

Quick and easy compared to the other portage on Chaser.
