Started this portage fairly early on Saturday. There was a light dusting of snow on the ground for our start. Our first view of the lake was incredible with fall colors robed in the fresh snowfall. It was a nice start to an unforgettable trip.

Agree that this map shows the wrong spot- by river -on the lake. (It's actually back west several hundred yards along the north shore.) This portage is very flat. The better percentage of this trail is along a double planked board walk but, there are a couple of very small muddy areas. That said, I don't think a portage of this length could be much easier.

This portage is actually not near the river and is East by Northeast of here about a quarter mile. A long plank walk from the lake to near the parking area. I found out the hard way as this was my exit point.
